So, turns out after some decent bus trip prayer and worship. From my last post to now. The time and desire arose and I continued to write and as always my fingers tapped for quite a few hours until I could no longer.

In that time Harper met up with one of her best friends Taylor. A happy random catch up occurred when Taylor emerged from one of her many lengthy shifts as a resident Doctor at one of the cities local tertiary hospitals.

Taylor and Harper on their breakfast date

It’s as if Taylor knew she needed to see one her best friends. While Taylor doesn’t know what’s been happening in Harpers life. Harper doesn’t divulge too much because she knows how hectic Taylor’s schedule is and dealing with human emotion and their life’s anxiety and angst – Harper had developed a don’t share until you absolutely have to kind of mentality, especially with Taylor.

But Taylor, She knew something was up she could sense it. Determined to enjoy their coffee and their breakfast. Let’s sit down for a sneak peak into their catch up.

Harper: T, this place is amazzzing. I heard from one of my neighbours they do the best French toast, and look, pottery classes! are you keen?

Taylor: looked over her shoulder, and turned back eyes smiling, even though she was exhausted.

She said oh yes please!

I can’t remember the last time I did something fun and not work like. Harps I’m so exhausted my eyelashes are exhausted. We should reach out to the other girls and see if they’re free maybe we could make a day of it? Brunch, Clay and play. What do you think?

Harper: eyes wide, smiling. No hesitation, ugh that would be amazing we haven’t all caught up for some fun in ages we need it! Let our hair down, get a bit dirty and buck wild.

Taylor: Laughing, not sure about the buck wild part. But I am super keen for some laughter, hugs, food and anything else that takes our fancy.

Harper: Great! I’ll organise the girls you worry about making sure you tell that hospital you’re not coming that day.

Taylor: Amazing, let me check my roster and I’ll give you a day that suits.

Harper: hand gestures to Taylor a happy dance, then their food arrived.

Taylor: So, Harps what’s news?

Harper: Hesitant, I question do I tell her about my random encounter with this man that hasn’t left my mind, the man who rattled my insides and how much it’s irritated me since?

I decided against it and tried to quickly find a different topic.

‘Not a lot really’

‘I mean, just work really. The business is starting to pick back up again. The online sales are also picking up which is good. My delivery guy is my new best friend’

Taylor: ‘ahem, excuse me, there is no more room at the inn for another best friend.’ She joked.

Harper: ‘ lady, at least he is consistent’ I can barely get a consistent catch up schedule with you girls. So, be careful I’m not opposed to a swap out’

Taylor: rolling her eyes, sighing, ugh, I know. I’m sorry H. Work, you know the drill. I can feel it draining me to the core I haven’t had a decent break in what feels like years now, I love my job. But, what’s the lesser of two evils? There is 100% no balance in my work or home life.

Harper: I thanked the heavens above inwardly. That didn’t have to spill on my weird.

I looked at Taylor with deep compassion. ‘

This is why you must make time to come hang out with us all. I will make this happen. For your own mental and emotional wellbeing. You can’t be all work and no play Taylor it’s not healthy, for anyone. Me included!

Business for me has been pretty great. I’m learning new tech skills. Skills I would rather not have to learn and wished I could delegate to someone else.

But, I’m adapting. So yeah, when Jase from Courier One turns up to take my packages, I get excited to have someone to chat to and have a bit of a flirt with, it’s harmless. He’s so lovely, very married with children. He lovingly shows me photos of him and wife and kids out fishing and camping. If I’m honest, it makes me feel a little envious. Not that I want kids… but to explore, have fun, heck maybe even try camping or hire a van for a weekend, instead of working all the time.

Taylor: your preaching to the choir H, how did we get here? Her eyes down trodden.

Harper: ‘not sure, I guess this is adulting’

Taylor: ‘who made that compulsory?’

Harper: ‘I’ve got no idea, but whoever it was, has a lot to answer for, and they better run, because there’s some cranky people coming for them demanding their fun time back!’

Well, that’s a short look into the world of Harper and one of her closest friends Taylor.

I’m keeping this one a little short, but I wanted to share a little snippet of how the crew is going, how the characters are developing and what I myself have been up to since my last post.

Funnily enough, in that time of writing I went for a little jaunt into James street to buy some bougie food – to feed the bougie side of my soul and celebrate some wins.

I bought this amazing seafood pie, some Persian feta, fresh pasta (I usually make something creamy with fresh pasta, but I couldn’t stomach it, so spaghetti bolognaise it was because my daughter isn’t a huge fan of my creamy pastas) a dip, some garlic and herb naan bread and a few other things.

I didn’t stay long, too many fancy people and I’m not cool enough and felt so out of place, I was there for the mood and the food. Then I bounced like a ball, spent just enough time to get what I need then off home I went.

To write a little more and then enjoyed the rest of the weekend. I also caught up with some friends we did an impromptu Bible study which as always was a very prominent and ‘on the heart’ kind of study – so needed. That relationship is deepening the more I chew on the true word, the more I want of it. I love how when a study session comes up it’s always exactly what I need learn and get into my spirit heart and soul.

Anywho,

Until next time. Be safe, stay safe and just think – we’re in the start of November oh my gosh HOW did that happen?

Next month is my birthday, haven’t always loved how close it was to Christmas. Alas, I am celebrating with some friends earlier and then I get a whole chunk of time off over Christmas and New Year.

I can’t wait!

Bless you 🙏🏼

WAIT I was out on a lunch time walk and I saw this and HAD to share it with you! Queensland weather is a little all over the shop – much like my peri-menopausal self but thank goodness for good doctors AND this scenery.

One more share – apparently skippy likes to invade my space, I’m not angry about that it does take me back to my farm gurl life so not entirely terrible…. Don’t ever fight with one of these!
